Although I was always gifted in visual arts, I did not always pursue it. In 10th grade, I took my first art class. The class was such a joy that I decided to pursue it as a career. At this time, I sought after an after school art program, which I found the Youth Art Connection (YAC), a Boys and Girls Club Art Gallery. I joined the The Studio class, and we had art workshops every Thursday after school.
At YAC, I entered into my first art competition and won first place, which was hosted by Vox Teen Newspaper. In the 2007 May issue, my picture. NightLife, was displayed in their newspaper, and I won a cash prize. From that moment on, I grew confident in my art career.
